Abstract

The architecture of the Danube captures any expectation of the reader, from wherever he may be, marking the passage and overcoming of identities, limits, and demystification. In this sense, the paper will follow the echo of a dream, but also of reality, which the Danube space projects in eternity. Many inspired pens were attracted by the architecture of  topos, leaving to all generations the historical-geographical, but also cultural importance of a space where the perspectives change as in a labyrinth of mirrors.

Treating the subject through a new interpretation algorithm, the image of this topos can surprise us with multiple valences in prose, lyric, painting, music, mythology, etc. The spiritual-affective side of the Danube is what could save us from the terror of history, as Mircea Eliade stated. Starting from the antiquity of a territory bathed by the double life of this river, we discover legends that keep a truth, places dominated by waters - symbols of birth and rebirth, source of knowledge, psychoanalysis, summing up stories in which the Danube becomes a character.
