Abstract

An attempt is made to present a comparative description of the culturological concept of water in the Ukrainian, Bulgarian and Russian dialects of the Danube region on the basis of an analysis of linear dialectal and folklore texts of ritual themes. The semantic structure of the concept is represented by such meanings: 'liquid', 'pure (holy) water', 'living water', 'dead water', 'deep water'.
In folklore texts, especially in wedding songs about love, about the girl's destiny, the semantic functions of this concept are observed in other lexemes, which denote the water space, for example, the river, the sea, the well, the Danube, the ford, the pond, the rain, the dew and others. Water as a conceptual symbolic concept indicates a corresponding ritual element.
